The Final Countdown

Following our ‘Reasons To Be Cheerful’ blog issued in February 2021 (https://www.inevexco.co.uk/blog/reasons-to-be-cheerful-1-2-3), we thought we would continue the musical based theme and considered several great songs when reviewing the mood of our clients.

‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams was a front runner. Maybe if the song had been entitled ‘Happier’ we would have looked no further. ‘Ready To Go’ by Republica certainly conveyed the great anticipation felt around the sector? ‘Walking on Sunshine’ possibly but perhaps a little premature at this stage? We settled on the song written by Joey Tempest from the band Europe as it probably sums up the mood and general position of the industry best. It does feel like this is the final countdown to the sectors lift-off.

As we write this having passed Step 3 of the Roadmap, the signs are encouraging and some of our UK clients have live events already open. Others are due to take place later this month and then we have even more again in June and July with more being announced and of course insured as each day passes.

We have conversations with organisers planning new launches, clients asking us for guidance on their current policies and we have had a significant number of new enquiries too.

On the contractor and suppliers side there appears to be a lot of activity with new projects planned in the UK, Europe and further afield. The signs appear to be positive all the way up and down the supply chain. We are never going to be unhappy about being busy again!

Throughout our conversations it is apparent the work we have been carrying out with the EIA and the trade associations in these challenging times has helped us to get even closer to the members and suppliers to the whole industry.
